I just need to know how to have REAPER allow me to use six OUTPUTS instead of just two, cuz there's six outputs that I need REAPER to connect to. But that doesn't really seem to have anything to do with my question. I'm using a Behringer UCA 202 interface which has a Behringer Xenyx 808 mixer connected to it. I didn't think you needed to know what I was using for recording so that's why I didn't include that. I've been at work ALL DAY so I haven't been able to get back to you till now. I'm absolutely shocked at how many of you responded to this one, and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. It also has 4 inputs (including 2 mic preamps) if you are interested in recording anything and not just listening to surround sound.

It has 6 balanced/unbalanced outputs so it's ready for surround. They default to L R C Lf Ls Rs from 1-6 respectively but you can change them if your speaker configuration is not standard.Ī little old Presonus Firebox can be sniped for $40 - $50 on Ebay. Click Configure Speakers, click the Multichannel tab, set the 6 channels. 5.1 surround from any media player), you select the device for system output in Audio MIDI Setup (OSX) (I think the utility is called ASIO4ALL in Windows). You absolutely need to download their driver (weather OSX or Windows). I don't know what hoops you'd have to jump through with Windows but for OSX you'd simply select it from the device drop down menu in Preferences/Audio/Device and you'd have it's 6 outputs to use in Reaper. Sorry, words and terms.Īnyway, it's an output device only (6 channels). It's very cheap like a soundblasticator card and won't sound much better but it's a little external interface.
